The electronic breaker makes the hollow-shaft motor function like an electric window motor in a car, it will supply power to the motor when the tarp system is able to travel across the truck bin, but when it reaches the end of its travel, either in or out, it senses the resultant higher amperage and cuts power to the motor. Because of its function it is impossible to burn out a motor. If the breaker is re-routed or installed incorrectly a supplied higher amperage blade fuse provides further protection.
